I ran over a pack of parliament cigarettes, in the street, on my bike. It was a full deck. Snatched up the smokes and back to the art lab. Daisy chained the Parli’s together, end in end. Left a ‘Lucky’ upside down in the pack. ‘Lucky Butt’ aka Stockholm Syndrome is a piece in a series of work called ‘ take your own advice. take your own add vice.’ A series of sculpture, films, music and writings that poke at how we turn our addictions, obsessions and compulsions into romances that rival the roman tragedies flair for debacle and melodrama. I first showed this piece at Yes.Oui.Si ‘Cycles’ show! I quit puffin’ filthy fags (Cigs) on Labor Day 2007 Amen! Incidentally, you can see a Phillip Guston hand holding on a cancer stick on the parcel on the table.
